Within the 12 months, the county recorded no murders, eight rapes, seven robberies, and 51 cases of aggravated assaults. In descending order, property crimes consisted of 257 larcenies/thefts, 454 burglaries, nine motor vehicle thefts, and 1 arson.

An evaluation of the 2018 and 2017 reports revealed that Phelps County had an 11% fall in the crime index; this is mainly because of the significant decrease in property and drug-related crimes that happened between these periods.
